Maria Andrikopoulou’s artwork outlines a circle around the meaning of matter. Her own ‘archaeological excavation place’ consists of the nature and the urban space. Matter is collected as a hint, in order for a new coherent entity to be created. This new body will be a narration of the time, the route and the evolution of fragments. The outcome reveals the performativity, which is one of the basic art media she uses. Andrikopoulou tries to research, narrate, and conceive the concept of time, decay, route, matter, memory and remembrance; the spectator, through her artwork, will “harvest” the results of this effort.
